1. When do we get an SMS regarding registration?
Notifications will be issued via SMS or Email to students.
2. Do you allow for late applications?
Late applications will be open until the 5th of February. Please check the website for any changes.
3. What documents are required for registration?
All students must submit or have the following available on registration:
An original/certified copy of the latest school report/Senior Certificate or highest certificate or latest results.
An original/certified copy of the identity document/affidavit and photograph in case of no/lost identity document/birth certificate.
Proof of residential address and relevant contact details.
4. How do we apply for NSFAS?
- Be a South African Citizen.
- Register at any of the 50 TVET Colleges.
- Combined household income must not exceed R350 000 per annum.
- Combined household income with disability must not exceed R600 000 per annum.
- Copy of South African birth certificate (preferably unabridged) or ID which must be recently certified.
- Copy of parents and/or guardian’s ID (or death certificate if applicable) which must be recently certified.
- Copy of proof of income such as payslip, letter of employment, pension advice, or SASSA letter. These documents must be recently certified.
- Completed and signed application form. Completed and signed consent form.
- For orphans or students with a disability – a completed and signed Annexure A or Orphan Declaration Form as provided.
5. How can I recover my student number?

6. How do I change my programme after registration?
Please go to your relevant campus HOD and change the programme.
If you have made an error during registration, please email registration@cjc.edu.za
7. How do I track the status of my application?
An SMS will be sent to the student with the status of their application.
8. Failed subjects, will NFSAS still be funding my class fees?
NATED:
If a student passes 3 of 4 subjects and fails 1, NSFAS will still fund the student.
However, the student must pay the class fees for the failed subjects and they must repeat the subject.
If a student fails more than 1 subject, NSFAS will no longer fund the student.
NCV:
If a student passes 5 of 7 subjects and fails 2, NSFAS will still fund the student.
However, the student must pay the class fees for the failed subjects and they must repeat the subject.
If a student fails more than 2 subjects, NSFAS will no longer fund the student.
9. Can foreign/international students study at CJC?
Yes, foreign students need to have valid study permits until the end of the relevant study period.
10. If my application is unsuccessful, can I apply for a different course?
Yes, you may, the process is as follows:
- Use your student number received during your first application
- Click on the link for returning students
- Complete your application on the academic application link for the new course that you would like to enrol for.
11. How can I transfer from another TVET College to Central Johannesburg College?
Register as a new student and provide your certified results from the previous institution or college.
12. When do classes start?
Communication will be sent out via SMS.
