TRAVEL AND TOURISM

COURSE OVERVIEW
Tourism relates to the activity of people traveling to and staying in places outside their hometown or usual environment. Tourism businesses include hotels, resorts, game reserves, cruise ships and lodges; all of which offer a relaxing and enjoyable environment in which to work.

Duties and tasks include overseeing operations within a tourism business; preparing tourist or visitor information; providing information and assistance to passengers on an airplane, bus or ship; being a tour guide or driving tourists around; producing promotional material and displays.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
1.1  A tourism NC(V) L4 Certificate; or an
1.2  Equivalent NQF Level 4 occupational qualification; or an
1.3 APS score of 24, using double the English the three (3) next best subjects of NSC/ NC(V) L4.

COURSE DURATION
Six (6) months per level

A career in Tourism is demanding and requires people with good communication skills, being able to be a team member and time management skills.
