The College Council of Central Johannesburg TVET College is the highest governing body, exercising its mandate in strict accordance with the FET Colleges Act (Act 16 of 2006) and the College Statute.
All committee chairpersons are Council members, ensuring integrated governance and seamless coordination across all institutional operations. Declarations of interest are recorded at every meeting.

Serves as Interim Deputy Chairperson, acting in the capacity of Chairperson in the absence of the Chairperson, and chairs the HR Social & Ethics Committee.
The Council mourns the passing of Mr N Mchunu in December 2025. He served with distinction as Deputy Chairperson. This Ministerial appointee post under s.10(4)(b) is currently vacant pending appointment.
Serves in an advisory capacity on the Finance & Investment Committee, contributing independent expertise to support sound financial governance and investment oversight.

The Council comprises Ministerial appointees under s.10(4)(b), a Donor appointee under s.10(4)(d), additional members under s.10(6), an Ex-Officio Acting Principal, staff representatives, and the SRC. Two posts are currently vacant.

Provides comprehensive secretariat support to the College Council, all standing committees, and the Academic Board — ensuring the smooth and compliant operation of all governance processes in terms of the FET Colleges Act.
